South Street Seaport Museum

The South Street Seaport Museum celebrates the naval origin of New York. It reminds us that the city grew and was articulated around its port on South Street. From the old port are the streets of cobblestones, a block of historical stores (Schermerhorn Row), its docks and the ships of the Maritime Museum anchored in front of modern skyscrapers.
