La Recova (Municipal Market)

With more than a century of life giving life to the city, and in the purest commercial tradition of Santa Cruz de La Palma, the Municipal Market, popularly known as La Recova, is one of the most characteristic places of the city's commercial activity and a must-see point for all who want to know the variety of palm cuisine. La Recova is located in a beautiful and unique building of neoclassical architecture in the space that was the old hospital of Dolores, and in which it stands out its double facade and, as the main characteristic element, its central lucernary, which brings natural light to the entire enclosure. In 2005, the building was subject to a process of reform of the whole set, which significantly improved its facilities. At present, the market consists of 13 and 12 places where a wide variety of fresh products can be found from the land such as fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, flowers and plants, wines, pastries, etc.
