Flag's Alcornoque
An example of Alcornoque (Quercus Suber), 11 meters high, 14 meters high, and two trunks, with a perimeter of 2.15mts and 1.95mts respectively, to which an age of 400 to 500 years is attributed. It is beautifully embedded in a granite mole. Its peculiarity lies in the way its roots are tied into the rock, as it desperately seeks a source of sustenance and moisture. No one knows how he could survive in this precarious situation. The difficult access to the rock that houses this specimen has been a determining factor for its conservation, since it has allowed it to remain relatively on the sidelines of bandits, thugs, labrarians or pastors who for centuries have wandered all over La Pedriza, and especially, already in closer times, of disrespectful dominoes. Once a beautiful meadow is crossed in its central part by a great song, the demolating presence of the "Peña del Indio" will mark you the place to which you will have to address in order to find the unique alcornoque.
