El Bajón Inmersion Point
It is surely the most famous immersion of the Canary Islands and the most important in Europe. The Bajon is a volcano that has formed a perfect tower of fully vertical walls in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the highest part of which is at 9mts and the deepest, low hundreds of meters. The fact of being separated from the coast makes it attract a lot more life than in the rest of the dives, especially pelagic and where we have had the most impressive encounters, highlighting whale shark, blue, hammers, devil blankets, dolphins and whales. But it also produces currents that can sometimes be so strong as to have to cancel the dive, which requires a medium-high level of diving. Although all divers would like to repeat this immersion over and over again during their stay on the island, the marine reserve has a very restrictive quota with this particular one.
