From this viewpoint we can contemplate the Sea of Calmas in all its splendor. This lookout is very close to the archaeological area where you can see the petroglyphs left by the bimbiches (former inhabitants of the island) that we speak below.

One of the least well-known viewpoints is the Black Lome lookout. During the formation of the island, the volcanic activity of El Hierro has moved to the extremes of the three dorsal. This lookout is located at the end of the western dorsal, above the Lomo Negro volcano, in a field of "young" lavas (about 1,800 years ago). This has produced most of the eruptive activity of the last stage of El Hierro formation.

Mirador de La Peña

Mirador de La Peña
4.4

We found the Mirador de La Peña in Guarazoca, north of El Hierro Island. The views of the Gulf Valley show the Fuga de la Gorreta, a risco raised to a thousand meters above the sea and by which the pastors used to move freely through the levels. From the viewpoint you can also see the Roques of Salmor, the vineyards and fruit that reach the coast. A self-named lookout, in this case, César Manrique. A pearl located at one of the highest points on the island and designed by the Canary architect to pay tribute to the land and create a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. The result was a work decorated with plants, windows and stone ceilings. The interior is dedicated exclusively to the Mirador de La Peña Restaurant, for the user to enjoy a letter of canarian cuisine.

The different views of El Hierro are a window to the most spectacular landscapes. You will find several parts across the island in the areas of Jinama, Frontera or Valverde, among others. To feel the winds from the top and to observe the best views of the island is an unforgettable experience. You can't leave the island without visiting any of them. They're real postcards.
