Sumibi Yakiniku Nakahara
Sumibi Yakiniku Nakahara, the best wagyu to the grille. Kentaro "Henry" Nakahara is one of the most recognized names in Japan if you are looking for premium yakiniku with high quality wagyu. The chef, who is also a butcher and all of it self-taught, gradually went into the world of wagyu and its courts and was a pioneer when he opened his restaurant Sumibi Yakiniku Nakahara. So, it was not common for a Japanese barbecue restaurant to use higher quality meat cuts that can be found. In fact, there was no one in which there was, in addition, an omakase menu, one of these words today almost worn out that seems more reserved for sushi restaurants. The restaurant is not difficult to find and occupies the 9th floor of the GEMS building. This building, dedicated only to restaurants, does not stand out too much from the outside. It just seems like one more building of offices like so many others in Tokyo. However, its corner situation - and the photo we have included - will make it easier for you to identify it. But as in Japan it is common to find restaurants on high floors of buildings, you can pass it by. Especially because the Yakiniku Nakahara sign on the business list on each floor is only written in Japanese. In it you will see several tables where you will be the one to cook the cuts of the menu but, without a doubt, the most desired seats are those of the bar. Because being on the bar, chef Nakahara himself cooks for you, ensuring that every meat cut is on the grill the right time and not a second more. In fact, when you're on the bar, Nakahara himself will show you the Japanese binchotan coal he uses for grills, hard as a stone. By hitting two bars of this coal the sound seems almost metallic and hard to believe to be coal, for it does not even stain hands. If you also speak English, you will be in luck because Nakahara also speaks English. So, if you're in the bar, not only will you eat every bite at its optimal point, but you can talk to the chef about the meat, its cuts and anything else. That's right, the bar seats are the most demanded and the first reserved. We could get them on our visit to the restaurant and it really makes the experience even more special. .
