230 Fifth

230 Fifth

It's a New York classic and maybe the most popular in town. And he's been beat to the pulse for having really impressive views of the Empire State building. It's open all year and if you go in winter, don't worry because not only are there stoves but they'll give you a warm red blanket. The entrance is free and you won't even be required to eat.

The Roof

The Roof

The Roof at the PUBLIC hotel is one of the newest rooftop bars in New York, and also has one of the best views. Located on the Lower East Side, it is now the only rooftop bar in the area. The views of Downtown and Midtown are therefore unique. The Roof has two terraces and a covered bar. It also offers 360-degree panoramic views. From here, you can see all the high buildings in Manhattan, including the Empire State Building and the One World Trade Center. These views make the sunset from The Roof an experience. Between 5 and 7 am it is quite easy to enter, without having to comply with a very strict clothing code. Later, and especially during the weekends, it's one of the city's fashion places, so it'll be harder for you to pass. When you get to the hotel PUBLIC don't take the mechanical stairs you'll see. Instead, take the elevators from behind, which will take you to The Roof.

The Top of the Standard

The Top of the Standard is one of the most stylish clubs in the world (or at least that's what they like to think). When you get up you have to leave your coat before being escorted to your table by one of those waitresses who aspires to be models or actresses. If they think you're cool enough, they'll let you sit in a beautiful place. At first you will not know where to look, whether to the spectacular interior or to the splendid views of the outside. On Fridays and Saturdays it is very difficult to enter, especially if you are a boy and without a companion. It's only easy to get in if you go by 17: 00, if you're over 21 and you're well dressed. It's a very exclusive club and a good opportunity to meet some famous.

Sky Room

Sky Room
3.7

You'll find the Sky Room in downtown Manhattan, near Times Square. This bar is located on the 33rd and 34th floors of Fairfield Inn and Suites Hotel. The views of Midtown from here are amazing, with the Hudson River and the Empire State Building as a backdrop. And there are fewer tourists than, for example, in 230 Fifth. The good thing about this rooftop is that it is made up of different bars, located on different "levels." There are indoor and outdoor spaces, including a "cubicle" that serves as a smoking area. It's fun to turn around, because from every level the view is different. The interior is modern and people are very well fixed. Are you a woman? Put on high heels, because if you don't, you'll feel out of place. Apart from the strict dress code, the atmosphere is very nice. It's a good place to have a beer. If you have the chance, go to the Sky Room one day a week, from 17: 00 to 19: 00. Why? Because there's happy hour! You'll only pay $5 for the beer and $7 for a cocktail or a glass of wine. They also have some things to bite, such as pizza or squid, that usually cost $12 and that for $8 and even $5 sometimes, you can enjoy in one of those days. It is ideal for a first impression of the city while you drink something at a relatively cheap price during the happy hour. If you don't get dressed well and you don't have a passport, it's very hard to get in.
