Koukounaries Beach

Koukounaries Beach
4.6

Among the pearls of the south-west coast of Skiathos, Koukounaries Beach is within a natural reserve. Its sandy language extends like an amphitheater for more than a kilometre, offering a multitude of equipped spaces, interspersed with open areas. The Koukounaries beach combines seemingly irreconcilable elements: an authentic natural environment and an abundance of services. This rare balance makes it one of the most famous beaches of Skiathos, along with the colors of water that shows magical emerald reflexes. The Koukounaries beach is a corner of paradise that, in exchange for privacy, offers a thousand temptations: from water sports centers to taverns where you can give free rein to all whims, under the flag of typical Greek cuisine. Long before sunset, the situation is encouraged by the music selected by the chiringuitos: the party can begin!

Xenia Beach

Very close to the Koukounaries Beach is the Ampelakia Beach, also called Xenia Beach. What separates them is a thin "border" of rocks: enough to create a clean break and revolutionize the atmosphere. Compared to its noisy neighbor, in fact, the Ampelakia beach is characterized by its tranquility. Here too, the sand is clear and fine, the sea is clear and the lush vegetation extends almost to the sea: however, there are no beaches equipped and local to attract crowds of tourists. The question of prospects: for some, this is the ideal beach.

Playa Lalaria

Playa Lalaria
4.7

Lalaria is completely covered with white round pebbles with a grayish tone. The water entrance is a little steep, so if you decide to come here with children, you'll probably have to take care of them. The background is also pebble, and periodically there are stones and pretty large rolling edges that stand out of the water. The cliffs with caves and caves are very close to Lalaria. On the east side of the beach is a natural stone arch of magic beauty, against which you can take beautiful photographs. The disadvantages of the beach are its inaccessibility and lack of comfort. You can only reach Lalaria by boat, which leaves the capital of Skiathos twice a day. Sometimes, the journey can be cancelled on the same day due to the north wind, which causes strong waves in the sea. It is better to see the weather forecast in one or two days to avoid missing the trip. It should be noted that the best time to go to the beach is in the morning, especially at the end of the summer, because in the afternoon it is completely hidden under the shadow of the cliffs, so you cannot sunbathe. Please note that there is no infrastructure in Lalaria: there are no umbrellas, hammocks, bathrooms, or facilities for eating and drinking. However, Lalaria's natural beauty deserves all the difficulties on the way to it.

Kastro Beach

Kastro Beach
4.6

The road to the beach is accessible by car. At first there are about 100 meters, maybe a little more, very bad. But you can go through all kinds of car. After that, there is a road paved with stones, very good, narrow, for a vehicle. After leaving the car in the parking lot, it has approximately 500 meters of walk to the beach. Highly recommended walking shoes, not beach slippers. It is also possible to arrive by boat, staying an hour on the beach of Kastro and two hours on the beach of Lalaria.

Agia Eleni Beach

Vasilias Beach

Vasilias Beach

Most of the Skiathos beaches, especially the most famous ones, are located along the south-west coast of the island, while some particularly beautiful beaches, such as Lalaria and Mandraki, are located along the north coast and can be reached by boat.
