Pescarus
The Pescarus restaurant used to be the place where the Communist elites in Romania, including the dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, attended. Communist leader Gheorghe Gheorghiu- Dej also used to eat in this restaurant, and even had his private dining room on the first floor. During the communist period, the restaurant used to be the main place to buy Coca- Cola and good cigarettes. Different personalities in visits to Romania, including Spanish king Juan Carlos, Israeli President Shimon Peres and great Russian chess master Anatoly Karpov, also preferred the restaurant with views of Lake Herastrau. Pescarus was acquired by City Grill Group in January 2015, becoming the group's largest restaurant. The restaurant has about 400 seats inside and 600 seats on the terrace, which is also available in winter, being one of the largest restaurants in Bucharest. In the menu of the Pescarus restaurant you will find traditional Romanian dishes, prepared with fish. The prices are above average. There are many meat-based meals, including boar, and home desserts.
