Parthenon

It is the most important monument of ancient Greek civilization and is considered to be one of the most beautiful architectural works of humanity. The construction of the monument, carried out almost exclusively in white marble of the Pentelic, was initiated by Pericles and developed between 447 and 432 adC. The architects in charge of the work were Ictino and Calícrates and were in most cases directed and working with the famous Athenian sculptor Fidias.
