Natural Park of the Sierra de Irta
This Natural Park is formed by a saw that runs parallel to the coast line along 15 km almost unchanged in which we can find cliffs, beaches and coves. The cliff of Torre Badum is one of the highest in the Valencian Community. It has no high altitudes, the highest peak of 572 meters is that of Campanilles and the proximity to the sea does not allow the formation of large rails, the longest being the Barranco de Irta with 6 km. It has a rich and varied indigenous vegetation. A whole series of typical Mediterranean flora is developed forming true plant sets of remarkable ecological and forestry importance. The Mediterranean bush is the dominant plant formation and there are plant species of interest that we can find both close to the coast and in the canyons that enter into the interior of the saw. We can find, among others, the phenoll, the lentif, the palmito, the rosemary, the heifers, the swabs, the thyme, the cat's tail, the esdiciones, the tallfas (baladre), the madroños, the phenas, the zarzas, the rock and poleo tea, the jars, the chamomile, etc... The nearest flora to the sea is characterized by the communities of limoniums (Limonium spp.) and sea fennel (Crithmum maritimum). The presence of seabirds, amphibian species and the most common species of mammals that are often more difficult to observe should be noted. There are several hiking routes that we can take through the great natural space that is the Sierra de Irta. .
