Nara Park
In the huge park of Nara, at the foot of Mount Wakakusa, there are many nice playful deer. It is a natural environment with temples in virgin forests and a lake full of turtles and tents. Nara's temples and shrines are much older and much more unique than Kyoto's, often rebuilt. Today, the 1200 Sika deer who live in Nara Park are domesticated and used to visitors, who often feed them with shika senbei, special cookies that can be bought in the area. If you hold a cookie over your head, you'll make a funny bow.
