Parc de la Villette
The Parque de la Villette is one of the largest parks in Paris and includes a mix of museums, theatres and children's attractions: a masterpiece of modern urbanism. Built on the site of an old slaughterhouse and designed by the architect Bernard Tschumi to reurbanize an old disused area, the Parque de la Villette is the largest urban cultural park in the capital, a real masterpiece of contemporary architecture. With its 35 hectares of vegetation and 3,000 m ² of ecological gardens that promote biodiversity, the Parque de la Villette is one of the largest and most beautiful green spaces in Paris. This important multicultural and artistic centre welcomes more than 10 million visitors each year. Here you can find art and culture in all its forms, science and education, not forgetting leisure and play. Splattered by 26 Folies, the live red architectural structures designed by Bernard Tschumi, today dedicated to multiple disciplines, the Parque de la Villette is an inexhaustible playground, a dynamic place in perpetual renewal, in which often unusual, innovative or spectacular activities abound.
