Central Market of Alicante

The Central Market of Alicante is a building with elements of modernist inspiration. It was built under the direction of J. Vidal Ramos between 1911 and 1912, on the wall of the S. XVIII surrounding Alicante. It consists of two floors, one in semisotane, due to the slopes of the surrounding streets. The main facade is presided over by a large step framed by two outgoing bodies and has different decorative elements. The back facade is located in Plaza 25 de Mayo: it is named after the more than 300 victims who claimed the bombing suffered by the Central Market during the Spanish Civil War on 25 May 1938. The interior of the Central Market has an ideal restoration area for the time of the vermu. Anamar Coffee Shop, the Central Bar, Ukiyo Raw Bar, Aitana's Corner Bar, Mil921 Coffee Shop and the Pale Bar are among them.
