Islot of Vila Franca

Located in front of the town of Vila Franca do Campo, about 1 km from the coast, this place is the result of the crater of an old submerged volcano. Catalogued as a natural reserve, the walls of its crater are covered by endemic vegetation, while within it there is a natural pool with an almost perfectly circular form, which communicates with the sea through a narrow passage. This opening is called Boquete and is oriented north, that is, towards the island's coast, which prevents the marine agitation from affecting the interior. Its crystal clear waters and the small but charming beach are excellent for swimming and diving.
