Church of San Giacomo
Descending along the Garibaldi road to the center of the city you can reach one of the jewels of Bellagio, the church of San Giacomo, one of the best examples of the romances of the 12th century, the Lombard style equivalent to the Romanesque. To not be lost: the impressive Foppa triptych next to the entrance door and the burial of Christ from the school of Perugino that is next to the altar. The church tower was actually one of the city's defense towers when Bellagio was walled in the high Middle Ages. As the wall fell into the seventh century, it was decided to turn it into a tower.
