Church of the Franciscans
In the Plaza de los Franciscanos (Franziskanerplatz), in whose center the Source of Moses (1798) is raised, is the church of the Franciscanos (Franziskanerkirche), which was built, like the convent annex, between 1603 and 1630. In it we can appreciate three architectural styles: Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Thus, in its facade, the lower part of which was modified in the 18th century, its three great Gothic windows, its high Renaissance fronton with volits, statues and obelisks, and its baroque atrium (1721), stand out. Inside it, of a single Gothic-Renaissance ship over which a magnificent Baroque decoration is superimposed, stands out its great main altar (1707) chaired by a statue of the Virgin Mary of the 15th century, as well as its baroque organ of the 17th century, the oldest organ of Vienna. In addition, in the side chapels we can see the Baroque altars decorated with canvas of the 17th and 18th century; on the left wall of the ship we find the large pulpit of carved wood decorated with Franciscan figures (1726); and, in the first chapel on the left, the altar of San Sebastián (1696).
