Hverir

Hverir is one of the most active geothermal zones in all of Iceland. Also known as Hverarönd, this region stands out for the ocre color of its landscapes and, mainly, for the numerous fumarolas and pozas of boiling mud that they distribute over several kilometres. Despite the intense smell of sulphur, the curious geothermal activity invites all visitors to walk their paths and admire the wonders that the Earth's interior offers us. Because of the enormous heat of Hverir's subsoil, it is very important not to leave the delimited trails, both to preserve this jewel from Lake Myvatn and to avoid burning with the steam of the fumarolas or to put your foot in one of the lodazals in the boil.
