Fortaleza de Valenca do Minho

La Fortaleza is a small town within the Portuguese city of Valença do Minho, located inside a 17th-century Vauban-like fortress. The Fortress as such is built in stone, from which 4 access doors and 12 bulwarks are preserved. Once inside, all the streets are steep and narrow, and as it was a village, it has churches, shops, houses and lordships, squares, restaurants, conistory building, etc. But the main tourist attraction of La Fortaleza is the many shops there are, very visited by tourists (especially Spanish as they are so close to the border). It's the typical place where you can buy sheets, towels, duvets, carpets, etc. There are also clothes (hunters, T-shirts, pajamas... and some imitation of brand clothes), some furniture, antiques and perfumery.
