Porto-Campanhã Station

Porto - Campanhã Station is a railway platform on the North and Miño lines, located in the parish of Campanhã, and serving the city of Porto, Portugal. Opened in 1875.1, it became, in the transition of the 20th century, an important railway core, in the transport of goods and passengers, in the railway management, and in the maintenance of rolling stock; however, this concentration of services and the high distance with the city center reduced its operation, so a new platform was built in the centre of Porto, the São Bento Station, opened in 1896.2 and part of its administrative functions were transferred to the Station of Contumil, created specifically for that fin.3 It is considered the main railway station in the Northern Region.
