Elogio del Horizonte

One of the most spectacular visits next to the Cantabric is undoubtedly the Elogio del Horizonte in Gijón, an impressive sculpture with its own name that puts the guinda to the most northern enclave of the city. That must have been Eduardo Chillida's thinking when he started his work in 1989. A year later, the great sculpture was placed in Gijón. The figure is made of concrete, is 10 meters high and one has a volume of 200 cubic meters. Its weight is 500 tons. Located under the Elogio del Horizonte, we will be able to perceive a sound effect that makes the breaking of the waves come to us, as if the sound climbed through the cliff silently until it snuck into the monument and there reverberate sorrowfully.
