The Chorro de Navafría

Cascade El Chorro

Cascade El Chorro

Beautiful water jump, which has grown in a melting season. The waterfall is higher than we see in the first moment, from the bottom. Natural stairs rise to the top of the waterfall, where we can see that it is even higher, higher and more spectacular than it looks from below. On the top, the views towards the Pinar de Navafría are beautiful.

El Chorro Restaurant

The Bar-Restaurant of the El Chorro de Navafría recreational park is the place to feel at home with the proper decoration of a mountain shelter, with traditional materials such as the Spanish tile of mud, stone and wood. It has a bar area and a large living room in separate environments to provide the best attention to the park visitors. In fact, it is run in a family way and its owners become the perfect hosts of the recreational area of the Sierra de Guadalrama. The cuisine of El Chorro is 100% homemade, with an interesting balance of traditional cuisine and current proposals, all with the utmost respect for the raw material, with fresh products and the area: meat, vegetables, cheeses, etc. and with more than reasonable prices, with menus from 10 euros. The facilities of the restaurant bar El Chorro are completed with two terrace areas with tables and chairs: one on the outside to enjoy the pine in the heart of nature and another large covered interior terrace, ideal for enjoying a more intimate and rested atmosphere.

Bridge

Bridge

By crossing the bridge we will return to the other margin of the stream, leaving the waterfall behind us. This path of return is quite similar to the one-way, in a slight descent, and there will be more views towards the course of the stream and the pine.

The road to the cascade of El Chorro de Navafría is very well, it has a certain level, and it is splashed with wooden banks to rest and look at the landscape, the route is beautiful, although it is July when we went, there was an unparalleled green, the thickness of the pinar melted with the green and radiant ferns that grow under the pine trees, there is no loss on the way there are several marks that indicate the small journey to the waterfall, for from the parking of the recreational area of El Chorro there are about 2.5 kilometres to the waterfall, just before there is also a small one of the wood that is also in the cascade.
