Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta

The main temple of the people, and the main monument to see in Positano is the Church of Santa Maria de la Asunción, world-famous for its dome decorated in mayolic with green and yellow colors. It is a building of the year 1,200 that houses a Byzantine image, a painting that represents the Black Virgin with the Child in her womb, and that arrived in Positano in approximately the 12th century.
