Baeza Historical Helmet

The beauty of Baeza was exalted by Antonio Machado, who served as a teacher for several years in the town. Its buildings, palaces, churches and towers are a splendid architectural exhibition of the Spanish Renaissance. The square of Santa María is a good starting point: there are the Cathedral and the Seminary of San Felipe Neri. In the square of Santa Cruz, the Palace of Jabalfifth, the Old University and the Church of Santa Cruz rise. Another emblematic point is the Populo Square, where you can admire the Old Carniceries, the Public Writings, the Arc de Villalar and the Gate of Jaén. In its center stands the source of the lions. From there, through the promenade of the Constitution, other monuments such as the Balcony del Council, the City Council or the former Church of San Francisco are reached.
