Palatina Chapel
The Palatina Chapel is the royal chapel of the Norman kings of Sicily located in the center of the ground floor of the Norman palace. Just to enter the palatine chapel there is no look that can escape from such an intoxicating image. Wearing giant gold-background mosaics, religious images are produced mixed with naturalistic elements. It shines the luminosity of a chapel without the entrance of light, and it unfolds an explosion of color that is multiplied by the mosaics populated by apostles. Built by Roger II in 1192 in a normal Gothic style, this small three-ship chapel has a size of 33 meters and 13 meters wide.
