Major Street

The Calle Mayor of Alcalá de Henares is one of the most important in the historical centre, both commercially and socially. It owes its origin to the ancient Jewish aljama of the city around the 12th century. It is born in one of the corners of the Plaza de Cervantes and dies in the Plaza de los Santos Niños, location of the Cathedral of the Santos Justo and Pastor of Alcalá de Henares. It has the record of the longest-standing street in Spain.
