Ca'Rezzonico

Ca'Rezzonico is one of the most important palaces in Venice and one of the few that can be visited today. The Ca'Rezzonico Palace was built in the mid-17th century by Baldassare Longhena, the architect of the Bon family. The palace was later acquired by the Rezzonico family and restored by Giorgio Massari. In the 18th century he lived in Ca'Rezzonico his most notable inhabitant, Pope Clemente XIII (Carlo della Torre di Rezzonico). The Ca'Rezzonico Palace now houses the Museum of the Venezuelan Settecent, a museum with three floors and contains all kinds of objects that remember the way of life of the nobles who lived in the past centuries. If we compare it to the Ducal Palace, it is smaller and less majestic, but it has some rooms that may be more beautiful and striking than the first. If you have enough time, your visit is highly recommended. Before you go up to the palace you will find a gondola with felze (gondola covered to protect yourself from the cold and rain) and on the second floor you will see a small old pharmacy.
