La Pornacal
The La Pornacal brag, located in the Valley of the Pégueña (Asturias), is the largest and best preserved of the brows of the Natural Park of Souro, where the ancient traditions of the winged cowboys live in a framework of incomparable beauty. The mantle of La Pornacal is made up of 32 teitas or cabins and is located on the right bank of the birth of the river Pégueña, at a small summit at 1170 m of altitude, dominating the meadows of the Requexada. Each of these cabins still retains the original division. The teites are stone constructions with broom cover, a wild bush known scientifically under the name of Cytisus scoparius, and in Souro is called "xiniesta." These covers need to be changed every 15 years.
