Winery the Road

One of Chiclana's identity signs is its wines, especially the fine and the muscatel. Today there are still some wineries in the city, as in the case of El Carretero, founded in 1857, where you can taste their own broths next to a wide list of typical dishes of the area. Eating in El Carretero is an experience because, as it is a winery, next to the halls are located the ships where the wines age in the boots. Among its most acclaimed tapas is the choricito a la llama, which is prepared at the table itself, the butyfarra of Chiclana, the chicharrones or montadito of lome in butter. They also offer fish fritures where the corvina-to-lemon dadites, tiguillas, chocos and shrimp tortillitas stand out.
