Basilica of San Martiño de Mondoñedo

Located in the municipality of Foz, this basilica is considered one of the jewels of our historical heritage. Built on the remains of an ancient pre-Roman temple (S. VI), this Romanesque-style church, built between the 11th and 12th centuries, is considered the oldest cathedral in Spain. In its interior we can find altards and murals of the S. XII of Romanesque and Gothic style. Because of its importance, it has been awarded the title of National Monument and is listed as Good of Cultural Interest. As a curiosity, on one side we can find the Fonte da Zapata, which many call a miraculous source
