Andrássy Avenue

Andrássy Avenue is, along with Váci Utca, one of the most emblematic streets in Budapest. The extensive boulevard links the Erzsébet ter square with the Heroes Square, ending its tour next to the City Park, an ideal place to spend a relaxed time. The avenue, built in 1872, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2002, largely thanks to the beautiful facades of the Renaissance houses and palaces that are preserved. During the Andrássy utca tour you can eat in some of the most fashionable restaurants before going shopping for some of the most exclusive boutiques such as Armani, Louis Vuitton, Dior or Dolce & Gabanna. On Andrássy Avenue is also one of the most emblematic buildings in the city, the Budapest Opera. To walk the avenue, the best thing is to start at Erzsébet ter, to finish the tour with the beautiful views of the Plaza de los Heroes. For this, the most convenient metro station is Bajcsy-Zsilinszky, of the M1.If you prefer to take the route in the reverse sense, the nearest station to the Heroes Square is Hősök tere, also of the M1 line.
