Tree Chained

In this place one of the pioneers of hiking in Guadalrama, in 1924, received news of his father's death. In response, he wanted to pay tribute to the memory of his parent, and the idea of kitting the base of the plant giant where he received that slug with a chain with the inscription: "To his dear memory, 1840-1924." He had to buy the tree from a wood man who had it marked to turn it into boards. With about two hundred years and tied up, forgiveness in chains, to such a history, the Pino de la Cadena is an institution in the Sierra del Guadalrama. So much so that the forest agents of the Community of Madrid come to their feet every time to increase a link to the chain and thus prevent the iron from strangling the tree.
