Hil stop

This route will lead us to the summit of the Alto del Hilo (1,267 m.), from where we can see wonderful views to the south of Becerril de la Sierra and to the north of Navacerrada, both municipalities located in a privileged environment. This path is marked on the purple map. The route begins at the entrance to Peña Lisa from where we will take the road that, on the right hand side, ascends to the water tank of Becerril to then take a detour to the right that surrounds the skirt of the Alta del Hilo. At this point we can observe the urban town of Becerril as we walk between majestic centenary juniors and thick jars, especially beautiful in spring when they are in flower. We continue on the way to the north side where it joins the route of the Madrid side of the Santiago road in its passage through our term. We will cross a wonderful pine tree, walking parallel to the M-607, to the place known as the Salve. At this point we take the pecuary road on the left to the Upper Hill, moving away from the road of Santiago that continues to Navacerrada. When we reach the Collado de las Cabezas, which separates the Alto del Hilo and the Cerro de las Cabezas (1,256 m.), we can choose to climb up to the Cerro de las Cabezas and enjoy a spectacular view, for this to be seen from the collado, on the top of the Cerro de las Cabezas, a fire surveillance shed. We can ascend to the hill by taking the lead that, after the cancellation, turns left, leading us to the top. Once again on the Collado de las Cabezas, we will continue on a forest track that leaves on the left, taking us to the water tank that, nourished by the Maliciosa reservoir, supplies Becerril. Once we get to the warehouse we deviate from the track, taking a small path on the right and continuing towards the summit on the southern face of the Upper Nile. Once at the top we will enjoy the impressive view, a 360 degree panoramic, in which we will observe Becerril de la Sierra to the south and the municipality of Navacerrada to the north. In addition, we will distinguish elements such as El Valle de la Barranca, the Ball of the World and the Maliciosa to the north. To the east, the line of the Porrons, the Illesca Head and the Cerro de San Pedro. For its part, to the south we will see the Median Head and the Sierra de Hoyo, while to the west, the Cerro de las Cabezas, the Navacerrada reservoir, the Sierra del Castillo, the Altos and Cerros de Jarahonda and the alignment of the Alta del León - La Peñota. The route ends with the descent to the Collado de las Cabezas and from here we will continue south-southeast direction to return to Peña Lisa and to the starting point of the route.
