All 'Ombra della Piazza

In the heart of the historic center, it is a really special wine shop. Partly Venetian bacaro, partly tapas bar, partly specialized wine shop and partly small pizzeria. "All'Ombra della Piazza" has a hybrid identity in the formula, but strongly linked to wine. In fact, the name itself does not only refer to the adjacent Piazza della Frutta, where, if time allows, you can sit on the platea, before the Venetian "ombra de vin" (wine cup). The place is small and always full of people: less than a dozen tables inside, a rich sample of cycletti and then bottles surrounding the customers in every corner. The winery was founded about three years ago by Fabio, Massimo Ferrato and Fulvio Santoro, who have a team of collaborators trained to advise you in the best possible way and help you discover new wine jewels. In short, it became a reference point for all lovers of Padua wine. This is because the selection is very careful, about 400 labels (20 are offered per cup), and it focuses on small winegrowers who work based on an idea of respect and harmony with nature. Many of the proposed wines are difficult to find and the offer is wide: Carso al Collio, Champagne fermented in bottle, Nebbilo Valtellinese al Langa, many excellent wines from southern Italy and also several Europeans. Cicchetti Venetian, pizzas with dressing to choose from, Venetian sausages and alboncias are the most demanding tapas. .
