Villa del Balbianello

Undoubtedly the Villa del Bailbianello is one of the most photogenic corners of the (already impressive) Lake de Como, both for its location and for the elegance of its buildings and gardens. The Villa is located on a small peninsula, on the southern side of the lake, near the town of Balbiano. Just getting here is part of the charm of the place, especially if the arrival is made by one of the motor boats that connect the village with the villa. The boat leaves you on a small boat from which you access the property, passing a spectacular cover. And once inside the Villa, one can simply get lost in its spectacular gardens, which offer sensational views of the Lake. The villa has been the stage where several films have been shot, such as Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, by George Lucas, in which it served as the setting for the residence of Senator Padmé Amidala in the region of the lakes of the planet Naboo; the film of the saga of James Bond, Casino Royale, in which the villa appeared as the place where the agent is convalescent. There are several combinations of tickets for the visits, if you don't want to spend much money, simply the visit to the gardens is already worth it.
