Stalin's Bunker
The existence of this underground construction suggests that Soviet President Iosif Stalin did not exclude the possibility of moving to Samara if the threat of the takeover of Moscow was consumed at the hands of the Germans during World War II. The construction of the secret bunker began in late February 1942. If Moscow had been taken by the enemies, the management of military operations would have taken place from the banks of the Volga River, where Samara is located, potentially from this bunker. The bunker was excavated at 37 meters deep, which is more to less than the height of a 12-story building. Equipped with lifts, it has a conference room for 115 people and a personal room for Stalin. .
