Route of the Mejilloneras

The activity starts on a boat called a swallows, from where you go in the direction of the mussels, where you will find the Grill Hole. A construction built on the batters where they hang infinite curved strings of mussels and oysters, which patiently feed on the rich sediments of the Ebro Delta. Surrounded by water and hundreds of wood structures, called batters, mussels or musclers, Agustí Bertomeu explains how the fresh water and phytoplankton of the Ebro Delta make these mussels and oysters have a different and characteristic flavor, as well as a more defined and consistent texture. Saken directly from the sea, the oysters are opened and served with a cup of cava. Getting lost in the deep of its taste as the view melts into the curious green color of the sea in this area, is a sublime gastronomic experience. The mussels are served steamed, allowing their own juices to be mixed with the taste of lemon and garlic. The departures are from April and until September, every Saturday at 11: 30, always with prior booking by calling 600 447 587 or by mail to vcodinachs @ gmail.com.
