Victory shelter
The Victory mountain shelter is located at a height of 1,950 m, at the foot of the Galayos, in the municipality of Guisando. It was opened in 1949 and built by the Royal Society of Peñalara Alpinism. It is named after Antonio Victory Rojas (1890-1972), a pioneer of Spanish mountaineering and one of the artists of the creation of the Spanish Federation of Alpinism. President of the Real Sociedad Española de Alpinismo, actively promoted the movement of "guadarramismo" and in general to a way of living consecrated to love, dissemination and conservation of the saw. It is kept in the summer months and weekends of the rest of the year, leaving an open part when the guard is not there. In 2010 it became the property of the Group Gredos de Montaña, immediately starting a series of improvements: treatment against the wetlands, change of windows, installation of the floor shelf, etc. .
