San Roque Beach

It is the nearest beach to Ponta Delgada. You can go by car, (There are two large parking spaces), by bus, with varied frequencies, or if you want to walk about half an hour. There are three unified beach areas with the same name, the largest one, is very quiet but it has a lot of waves, which although they are not large waves, if you have to be careful to soak everything when entering or leaving the water. The beach has a blue flag, is very clean and has service of lifeguards (4). It is accessible for wheelchair, at least to the sand and has a water chair for people with reduced mobility. It also has the services of changing rooms, health facilities and showers, the latter of which are paid (0.40 = €). Although for children under 16 and over 60, they are free, and also have permanent surveillance. It's a very recommended beach to spend the day.
