Nakatanidou

Nakatanido is probably one of Nara's best-known confectioneries. This pastry was made viral on social networks thanks to its "show" of making mochi (called mochitsuki, in Japanese) and thanks to this there are always many people around it. Nakatanido's specialty is the yomogi mochi, a rice pie pressed with artemisa, which gives it its characteristic green color. The mochi is filled with red bean paste and comes sprinkled with kinako, soya flour and, if we are fully honest, it is spectacular. We thought that with the "fashion" that the site had put on because of its mochitsuki demonstrations it might not be worth it, but the opposite. Try it, you'll love it.
