Mercado do Livramento

The Mercado do Livramento is a lively and bustling covered market, where seafood and fresh fish, local fruit and vegetables and crafts are sold. It is a wonderful place to immerse itself in the typical Portuguese daily life, and prices are extremely affordable. The building itself is adorned with tiles that represent the history of Setubal. The market has to be visited early in the morning, as by 11 o'clock almost all the fish has been sold and the jobs start to close around one. The market is closed on Monday.
