The Bank Market

The Bank Market is a record market. On the banks of the Ria del Nervión, between the Old Town and the Bilbao la Vieja district, this monumental plaza of supplies rises, which, with 10,000 square meters of extension, is one of the largest covered markets in Europe. Built in 1929 in rationalist style and Art Decó by the architect Pedro Ispizua (artist formed with Gaudí and author of other famous buildings in the city), it has been recognized by the book Guiness as the most complete Municipal Market of the world in number of products, traders and posts.
