Letea Forest
It is the oldest natural reserve in Romania. It was established in 1938. With wild horses, lianas, 700-year-old oaks and sand dunes. Letea is the most northern subtropical forest in the world. The people who live in Letea are mostly Russians. There are over 500 different species of plants, many of which are exotic. For example, this is the only place in Europe where you can find lianas, like those used by Tarzan. Their seeds were brought here by the numerous migratory birds that come here every year.
