The Carcavas

The Chickpeas de Patones or Chickpeas de Valdepeñas de la Sierra are formations created by the erosion of water on the clay ground of the Ayllon saw. They are a hillside of clay that has suffered a strong effect of erosion by the rains and possibly by water outflows on that hillside. As a result, there have been Carcavas, that is deep ditches on the ground, so deep and so close that what is left standing are narrow and pointed reddish needles that form a spectacular landscape.
