L'Alter

In the town of Picassent, in the region of L'Horta Sud about 15 km from the capital is the restaurant L'Alter, a charming restaurant of traditional Valencian cuisine, specialized in wood rice. The L'Alter Restaurant was created by the grandparents Juliet and Amparo in 1967 as the current, third generation of rice experts. The secret of this family restaurant is to take full care of the whole process of making rice. For this purpose they make a rigorous selection of raw materials from the choice of rice (from the mill of St. Thomas, as it was more than 50 years ago), through vegetables (all of the garden of the area), to even wood (from wood of algarrobo and orange), which gives rice a special aroma.
