Itsism of Curlandia

The isthmus of Curland is known as the pearl of the Baltic Sea. It is a long stretch of wind-shaped sand dunes, surrounded by both sides by the Curland lagoon and the Baltic Sea. You only have to come to this special location once to check for yourself your indescribable beauty. The Curland isthmus is a unique example of traditional lifestyle and a balance between agricultural and marine resources. The sand strip, with a length of 98 kilometres, bathed by the Baltic Sea in the west and by the waters of the Curland lagoon in the east, is a wonderful work together between nature and human efforts. The current landscape of the isthmus of Curlandia was realized by the residents of the area in their struggle against the inexorable wind, trying to dominate the sand that was dragged by it. Because of this unique union between man and nature in the configuration of the landscape, the isthmus of Curland was declared a national park and was included in the list of World Heritage by UNESCO.
