Igrexa de San Francisco de Viveiro
By going up the beautiful Rua Maria Alas Pumariño or Calexa das Monxas, you will reach the Porta do Valado, another of the doors that gave access to the walled city of Viveiro. From this point you can take another great walk through the historic centre until you reach the Church of San Francisco, which belonged to a convent founded by the Franciscans in the 12th century. This religious temple that has a sculpture in homage to all the cofrades on one of its sides, stands out for its fantastic pentagonal apse and the Romanesque cover, while from the interior do not miss the cloister, several Renaissance altarpieces and the graves of prominent Viveiro personalities.
