Day Tour (West)
III Draakon4.2The III Draakon is a whole legend of Tallinn: as soon as you pass through your door, you will seem to cross a border of space / time and return to the Middle Ages. You will be surrounded by wooden tables and chairs, waitresses with medieval outfits and candle light. And all this in a place in the city hall building itself! Customer treatment is not the strong point of the site (and for the most part you have to leave an almost mandatory tip of 1 €when you leave...), but it is a whole gastronomic experience. Try the famous empanadillas and moose soup. According to what we saw on the Internet, the crop is expensive and it's not too much there, so we don't ask. If your budget allows you to also point to this name: Olde Hansa, it is one of the most famous restaurants in the city, also of medieval setting, but much more expensive. |
Jägala waterfall4.8The Jägala waterfall is the largest waterfall in Estonia. With 50 meters wide and 8 meters high, this waterfall is especially interesting to visit during the winter. The water freezes into an ice wall. The waterfall is a 30-minute drive east of Tallinn. Otherwise, the nearest bus stop is about 1.2 km away. . |
Kaspervik4.7The Kaspervik family restaurant is established in the old town of the captains, Käsmus, where they ensure that the food offered is made as much as possible with national ingredients, always fresh, offers new and interesting taste experiences and also the old pleasure of recognition. They eat their own fish and meat, make lemons, liquors and store them in the autumn. All they can do is do it themselves. |
Käsmu Maritime Museum4.7Since 1993, the Käsmu Maritime Museum has been located at a historic border post dating from the Russian imperial era. The aim of the museum is to inform visitors of the history of the legendary town of the captains around it. The exhibitions cover all aspects related to the sea: navigation, fishing, smuggling, as well as the sea as part of nature and as the object of photography and other arts. Special theme days of the children's museum are organized, focusing mainly on two themes: the people of the captains and the Viking era. The Käsmu Maritime Museum is a private museum that includes the collections of Aarne Vaik. More than 200 special visits and about 40,000 people visit the museum each year. The entrance costs 6 €, all donations are welcome. VAT shall be added to the invoice. The museum is located in the direction of Merekooli 1, in the picturesque village of Käsmu, in the county of Lääne-Viru, and is always open to visitors. |
KäsmuThe first written records of a village in Käsmu date back to 1453. It was home to a maritime school and practically all families had their captain or formed timonel there. That's why Käsmu was known as the "town of the captains." Today it is a popular place to spend summer holidays and celebrate events. Here you can rest and relax walking on the beach, exploring the natural beauty of the area on its hiking routes, enjoying the events that are held here and visiting the Käsmu Maritime Museum. . |
