Warsaw historic centre
One of the best things to do in Warsaw is to lose you through the streets of the Old City (Stare Miasto), the oldest neighborhood and the great jewel of the city. This neighborhood that was ruined as a result of the Warsaw uprising in 1944 during the Nazi occupation was rebuilt with such fidelity to the original that UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1980. In addition to taking a quiet walk through its predated streets and medieval architecture houses with colorful facades, we recommend you to approach the heart of the city that occupies the beautiful Old Town Square (Rynek Starego Miasta). In this square, the meeting point of tourists and locals, you can take something in one of the restaurants with terraces around it, see some painter or street artist and above all, take a picture next to the statue of the Sinerita, the city icon. Other important points of interest in the Old City are: the picturesque Piwna Street, the Royal Castle, the indispensable Cathedral of San Juan and the statue of the Little Insurrecto, raised in honor of the child soldiers who fought and died during the uprising. .
