Old Helmets

With its devalum of stairs and alleys, some so narrow that a person can barely pass through them, the old town is a stone maze. The church of Sainte-Marie, built in 1766, is located in the Place de la Libération (Place Porta). In addition to the magnificent polychrome marble main altar and the canvases that represent the Via Cruces, here are the chains and the cross that are used in the Catenacciu procession. Linding with the church, the building that today houses the city hall served in the 16th century of the palace to the genoese lieutenants.
